Applications are invited for this
new post of a whole time Consultant in Genitourinary & HIV/AIDS Medicine based
at the Bure Clinic, James Paget Healthcare NHS Trust in response to the
increased workload of the department and to improve the quality of the service
provided. The appointment is to the Trust, and may need to cover other sites
depending on local structure.
This is an exciting opportunity
for a suitably qualified individual to join a forward looking innovative
Genitourinary Medicine team led by Dr T C Harry and to play a role in the new
University of East Anglia Medical School which took its first undergraduate
students in October 2002. The James Paget Hospital provides a quarter share of
secondary care teaching.
Facilities for Genitourinary
Medicine Services of the Bure Clinic, James Paget Hospital include a
purposefully built unit with excellent supporting services from our Microbiology
Services led by Dr N T Elumogo and Dr Tony Hegarty. Alongside the expansion of
the genitourinary medicine services, the Trust is engaged in a series of major
service developments including a new Endoscopy Suite and a new Intensive Care
and High Dependency Unit.
Prospective Candidates should be
within three months of obtaining a CCST or be listed on the Specialist Register
of the GMC.
The
Hospital is situated in picturesque countryside in one of the most open and
unspoilt areas of the country. It is close to the resort towns of Great
Yarmouth and Lowestoft with easy access to the Norfolk Broads and unspoilt
coastline. There are close links with the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital
which is in the historic City of Norwich. There are excellent rail links to
London and easy access to the ports of Felixstowe and Harwich.

consultation with consultant colleagues and local management. The Trust is
